South America is a continent in the Southern Hemisphere, south of North America and north of Antarctica. The continent is bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean and on the east by the Atlantic Ocean. South America has just under 380 million inhabitants, half of whom live in Brazil.
Until you have been to South America, you have not seen the world. The thirteen country continent is home to beautiful natural and cultural wonders. Consider, for example, the snow-capped peaks of the Andes Mountains, thousands of miles of white sandy beaches, captivating colonial towns and indigenous villages, not to mention the Amazon rainforest; home to more plant and animal species than anywhere else on Earth.
However, South America has more to offer than breathtaking sights – the beautiful soundtrack will stay with you. Samba gives the sandy streets of the Brazilian seaside resorts a kick, Argentine folkloric (folk music) trickles from truck radios on the plains and the energetic rhythm of cumbia makes the bus trip through the Andes even more absurd.
